A blue XJS convertible is a Click and Clack special. If Tom Magliozzi was still alive he’d be all over it. Then again, he was a mechanic and had a brother that was a mechanic so he was equipped for a Jaguar.

Even if his father was a mechanic and his son a mechanic and a nephew in mechanic school I’m not sure he’d have been ready for a 25, year old Jag with almost 200k miles.
9/10 would make horrible investment and cruise, top down with 7/10 anxiety about every noise it makes.

4.0 5 speed? If there was ever a Jag I’d trust with 200K miles, it would be this combo.
Slightly CP, but these are unicorn cars.

4.0 5speed XJS is probably about the safest 200K/25 year old
Jaguar you could buy. That being said, it’s probably a terrible idea, even though it’s a unicorn.

Hot take: a manual transmission does not improve an XJS/XJ of that vintage.
